- I participated in my first BTWD (which happened to fall on its 20th anniversary).
- I completed my first SF2G ride via the bayway (approximately 42.5mi).
- I completed both of those on a tandem.

Mount Dana - Yosemite National Park
Weekend highlights:
- 08/08/09 12:30am: Carl getting pulled over in Yosemite and asked "How much marijuana have you smoked this evening?" and "How much marijuana do you have in your vehicle?" -- apparently the officer thought that the only reason Carl was driving 19 mph over the speed limit was because he was high. After Carl told him that no mary j had been smoked, we were sent on our way, ticket free.
- 08/08/09 2:30pm: Summiting Mount Dana with Carl, Kim, Emily, Chris, Nate, and Katie [Mount Dana is the second highest peak in Yosemite -- with an elevation of 13,053ft].
- 08/09/09 some time in the middle of the night: Chris sleep talking to me and sleep grabbing my sleeping bag.

Pig Roast
I attended my first Pig Roast this Fourth of July. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect - but in my brain, I conjured up an image of men in loin cloths, roasting the pig on a spit (with an apple wedged in it's mouth, of course) to the beat of drums playing in the background.
The Pig Roast didn't end up having men in loin cloths, a spit, or drums - but that's ok. The Strawberry Shortcake PiƱata and inflatable kiddie pool made up for all that was lacking.
